Casey Cook

Dr. Casey Cook is a dynamic musician, moving fluently between positions in conducting, vocal performance, academia, digital arts, and non-profit management. He serves as the Founder and Artistic Director of Artifice, a new-music vocal ensemble, and as Choral Musician in Residence and Director of the American University Chorus in Washington, DC.

He was awarded a doctor of musical arts in choral conducting from the University of Arizona for his research into the compositional completion of Gerald Finzi’s Requiem da Camera. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Miami University, and a master’s degree in choral conducting from the University of South Florida.

He has prepared ensembles for performances venues such as The Kennedy Center and Washington National Cathedral, and has studied conducting and composition with some of the true masters of the art, including Dale Warland, Peter Phillips, Morten Lauridsen, Weston Noble, Eric Whitacre, and Stephen Paulus.
